Mark brings to FPA his extensive experience providing financial and wealth management advice, which in many cases includes wealth preservation and income strategies as the cornerstone of the portfolio design and construction. He takes special care to tailor each portfolio to meet the unique requirements, specific goals and objectives, and stated risk tolerance of each client. Mark is regularly engaged by other professional advisors, CPAs, and attorneys whose clients require financial advice on such matters as property division recommendations, tax and wealth preservation strategies, and asset allocation recommendations. Mark transitioned into being a financial advisor after many years of practicing law. In that role, he regularly worked with clients experiencing large financial transactions, noting that the all too frequent lack of effective planning for major life events left many legal clients bereft of their financial goals. Dr. Clarke has been at the forefront of the company’s mission to revolutionize dermatological care through non-invasive genomic testing. A board-certified Pathologist and Dermatopathologist, Dr. Clarke brings extensive experience in clinical dermatopathology and molecular diagnostics. Prior to DermTech, he served as faculty at Penn State University’s Hershey Medical Center and contributed to the development of novel molecular diagnostics for melanoma at Myriad Genetics. Melissa Costner, MD < Back Melissa Costner, MD Faculty A Texas native, Dr. Melissa Costner began her journey as a Dermatologist at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she completed her training as a resident in dermatology. It was here, at UT Southwestern, where she developed an early and enduring interest in the skin manifestations of autoimmune disease. Dr. Costner welcomes self-referrals for skin problems such as acne, rosacea, and screening for melanoma and other skin cancers. As a D-Magazine ‘Best Doctor’ in 2025 and for the last 15 years, and recipient of the prestigious Legacy Award, Dr. Costner brings decades of experience to her patients. She values the lasting relationships she develops with her patients, many of whom she has helped for over 20 years. Melissa Costner, MD < Back Melissa Costner, MD Faculty A Texas native, Dr. Melissa Costner began her journey as a Dermatologist at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she completed her training as a resident in dermatology, and where she developed an early and enduring interest in the skin manifestations of autoimmune disease. Under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Sontheimer, an icon of dermatology, she honed the special skills needed to take effective care of patients with conditions such as lupus dermatomyositis and scleroderma. After graduation from her residency, Dr. Costner joined the faculty at UT Southwestern in 1997 and quickly established a reputation as a specialist in the skin manifestations of rheumatic diseases. She went on to write book chapters, contributed to research, published new findings, and participated in the development of clinical guidelines for dermatologic manifestations of rheumatologist disease. She is one of the founding members of the Rheumatologic Dermatology Society. In 2007, Dr. Costner further expanded the scope of her influence on the Dallas community by entering private practice, developing collaborative care pathways with the DFW metroplex physicians for the care of patients with autoimmune diseases, including psoriasis and eczema. Dr. Costner also supports a number of general and specialty physicians with her expertise in skin manifestations of several other general and specialty diseases. PS Home

Ciaran Smythe, DO < Back Ciaran Smythe, DO Faculty Ciaran was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Oregon with a degree in human physiology and minor in chemistry. He proudly followed in his mother’s footsteps by pursuing osteopathic medicine and attended the Western University of Health Sciences COMP-Northwest, where he received the prestigious Arthur O. Rott Scholarship and graduated valedictorian of his class. Ciaran began his residency training in orthopedic surgery, during which time he found his passion for dermatology. He conducted research in skin cancer, medical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology in Florida prior to beginning residency at Lake Granbury Medical Center. He enjoys finding ways to contribute to the field through education, leadership, and community outreach. In his free time, Ciaran likes hiking, cliff jumping, running, traveling, and eating his way through Dallas. PS Winter Home
