Mark Kaufmann, MD < Back Mark Kaufmann, MD Faculty Mark Kaufmann, MD, is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, a position he has held since 1995. He was in solo private practice for 23 years until he joined The Dermatology Group in November 2017. In September 2020, he joined Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery as their Chief Medical Officer. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, completing residency training in dermatology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He is board certified in dermatology. Dr. Kaufmann is currently the Immediate-Past President of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has served on the AAD Board of Directors, as well as countless AAD committees, and has chaired many of them as well. He also serves as an advisor to the Academy RUC team (Relative Value Scale Update Committee) - a position he has held for over a decade. Dr. Kaufmann’s contributions to the American Academy of Dermatology have been recognized by his receiving a Presidential Citation in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2020, and 2022. With many articles published on the topic of health information technology, Dr. Kaufmann is a frequent national lecturer, including the annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, and other societies, and grand rounds. Carina Woodruff, MD < Back Carina Woodruff, MD Faculty Dr. Carina Woodruff is a board-certified dermatologist who cares for patients with a wide variety of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, benign growths, moles, skin cancer, and autoimmune or infectious skin diseases. She has a special interest in contact and occupational dermatitis and specializes in patch testing, a technique used to identify chemicals that can cause rashes on the skin. She believes in a holistic approach to skin care, considering how mental health, overall wellness, work, and environmental exposures can impact the course and treatment of skin conditions. She is the Director of the Epiphany Skin Allergy Institute in Dallas, Texas. Before joining Epiphany, Dr. Woodruff was an assistant professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco where she was also Associate Director of the Contact Dermatitis Unit and Director of Medical Student Education. Dr. Woodruff is originally from São Paolo, Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese. She grew up in Orlando, Florida. Lawrence Eichenfield, MD < Back Lawrence Eichenfield, MD Faculty Dr. Eichenfield is chief of pediatric and adolescent dermatology at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and professor of dermatology and pediatrics and vice-chair of the department of dermatology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He is board certified in dermatology, pediatric dermatology and pediatrics. After earning his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Eichenfield was a pediatric resident and chief resident at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He then completed his dermatology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Along with longstanding expertise in atopic dermatitis, acne, psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions, Dr. Eichenfield has interests in neonatal dermatology, vascular lesions, laser surgery and rare skin disorders. He has authored more than 400 journal articles, chapters, abstracts and books, and has served as the senior editor of "Neonatal and Infant Dermatology," published by Elsevier, as well as "The Eczemas." He served as editor-in-chief of Pediatric Dermatology for 12 years and currently serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals and periodicals. Dr. Eichenfield has held multiple leadership positions, including co-founder and co-chair of the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance, co-chair of the American Academy of Dermatology Guidelines for Atopic Dermatitis, co-chair of the American Acne and Rosacea Society/American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatric Acne Recommendations for Diagnosis and Treatment, member of the Expert Panel Member of the NIAID Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of Food Allergy, Scientific Advisory Board of the National Eczema Association, and director of the Rady Children's/UC San Diego Eczema and Inflammatory Skin Disease Center. Additionally, he has served in leadership roles on guidelines and consensus statements for multiple dermatological conditions, including acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. High, MD, MEng, a native of Colorado, is the Vice Chairman of Dermatology, and the Director of both the Dermatology Clinic and the Dermatopathology Laboratory at the University of Colorado. He is board-certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He also has certification in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene. After practicing as a chemical engineer in the industry, Dr. High returned to medical school to receive his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. Dr. High completed his dermatology residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident. He completed his dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Colorado. Dr. High is appointed to the Departments of Dermatology & Pathology at the University of Colorado. His research laboratory was the first in the world to discover gadolinium in the tissue of patients with nephrogenic systemic fibrosis. Dr. High also has a degree in law from the University of Denver. He has authored 4 textbooks, 40 chapters, and more than 80 medical papers. He has served as an editor/editorial board member in many top medical journals in his fields. Mark Nestor, MD, PhD < Back Mark Nestor, MD, PhD Faculty Mark S. Nestor, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.D. is a board-certified Dermatologist and serves as Director of the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic Research™ and the Center for Cosmetic Enhancement®, Aventura, Florida. He is a Voluntary Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. He is the current President of the American Cutaneous Oncology Society, a past President of the American Society for Photodynamic Therapy, the International Society for Cosmetic and Laser Surgeons, and the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. As Director for CCCR, he has conducted more than 150 FDA and non-FDA clinical trials. Dr. Nestor is recognized as a world expert in clinical therapeutics, drug delivery systems, and research in many areas of clinical Dermatology and aesthetics including acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer, light therapies to treat skin disease, cutaneous laser surgery, photodynamic therapy, and Superficial Radiation Therapy. His aesthetic expertise includes lasers, RF, and other devices, fillers and he recently developed new clinical postulates for botulinum toxins. He has authored over 100 articles and book chapters, has delivered over 1000 major presentations around the world, and is viewed as an internationally acclaimed lecturer and instructor of clinical and aesthetic dermatology. Dr. Nestor also serves as a consultant to numerous pharmaceutical and device companies assisting them in the development of new medications, devices, and cosmeceuticals. Dipti Anand, MD < Back Dipti Anand, MD Faculty Dr. Anand is a native of New Delhi, India. She received her medical degree at Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore, India, graduating in the top 1st percentile of her class. She did a year of Preliminary Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where she received the “Outstanding Intern” award. She subsequently went on to complete an Anatomic Pathology Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her residency was followed by a year of a coveted dermatopathology fellowship, under the mentorship of Dr. Clay Cockerell, at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Anand is board certified in pathology as well as dermatopathology. She has been successfully running a well-reputed annual Dermatopathology Board Review course for the dermatology residents since, 2012. In addition, she also runs a biannual CME accredited dermatopathology teaching course for ancillary physician providers. Dr. Anand is passionate about education and is continuously on the teaching roster for didactic sessions for the dermatology residents at the Medical College of Georgia and Emory University School of Medicine. She is the recipient of the 2019 Voluntary Faculty Teaching Award from Emory. Dr. Anand is actively involved in mentoring residents and students in the field of dermatology. She is the Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and serves as the Program Director of Dermatopathology at D.O Dermatology Residency in Atlanta. She is on the Board of Directors for the annual Zola Cooper Lee T. Nesbitt Seminar. She is an active member of the Atlanta Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery Society, the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatopathology. Dr. Anand has numerous publications in the fields of dermatology and dermatopathology. Philip LeBoit, MD < Back Philip LeBoit, MD Faculty Professor of Pathology and Dermatology Division Chief of UCSF Dermatopathology and Oral Pathology Service After training in Anatomic Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco and in Dermatopathology at both New York University (under the late Bernard Ackerman, M.D.) and at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center (with N. Scott McNutt, M.D.), Dr. LeBoit founded the UCSF Dermatopathology and Oral Pathology Service in 1987, with the goal of bringing academic expertise to a larger patient base than that of traditional university-based dermatopathology sections. Dr. LeBoit's investigative work includes the delineation of granulomatous slack skin as a lymphoma, the first comprehensive description of bacillary angiomatosis and bacillary peliosis hepatis, the development of the concept of palisaded neutrophilic and granulomatous dermatitis, the application of first morphometric and then molecular studies to melanocytic neoplasms and the initial description of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis. Dr. LeBoit has written over 250 peer reviewed publications, over 25 book chapters, and co-edited the dermatology textbook, Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. Another major project for the World Health Organization was editing the WHO "blue book" Skin Tumors. Dr. Massi and Dr. LeBoit authored the textbook, Histologic Diagnosis of Nevi and Melanoma, the second edition of which was published in 2014. Dr. LeBoit has given over 400 invited lectures in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Dr. LeBoit served as editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Dermatopathology from 1997-2006, served as an associate editor of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, and am currently an editor of Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. Dr. LeBoit's service to the International Society of Dermatopathology includes membership on the executive committee and terms as Secretary-Treasurer and as President of the Society (2004-7). Dr. LeBoit have received the Ackerman Award from the International Society of Dermatopathology, and am the only person who has received both the Founders Award and the Pinkus Award from the American Society of Dermatopathology. Heather Goff, MD < Back Heather Goff, MD Faculty Heather W. Goff, M.D., M.P.H., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is an American Board of Dermatology-certified general dermatologist with special expertise in evaluating and treating cutaneous lymphoma. Dr. Goff earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society and also completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in dermatology. She holds a Master of Public Health (International Health) from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Studio Art) from Texas Tech University. She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014. Active in training the next generation of dermatologists, Dr. Goff is a recognized leader in dermatology student education both at UT Southwestern and nationally. Her many professional honors include the Department of Dermatology’s 2015 Outstanding Teacher Award and the American Academy of Dermatology’s Presidential Citation for Basic Dermatology Curriculum in both 2013 and 2017. Dr. Goff’s research interests include cutaneous lymphoma, medical education, mycosis fungoides, and preventive medicine/health promotion. She takes part in some of the UT Southwestern-based clinical trials to evaluate cutaneous lymphoma treatments. She is a member of professional organizations that include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Dermatology, United States Cutaneous Lymphoma Consortium, International Society for Cutaneous Lymphoma, and Women’s Dermatology Society. Darrell Rigel, MD, MS < Back Darrell Rigel, MD, MS Faculty Darrell Rigel, MD MS is an internationally acclaimed leader in the field of Dermatology with a focus on Melanoma, Skin Cancer, and Prevention. He has presented over 1000 lectures nationally and internationally on these subjects to physicians, government agencies, pharma, and the public. He regularly appears on CNN, Fox, ABC, and NBC, and his views are quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today and he is the Team Dermatologist for the New York Yankees. He is a graduate of MIT with a BS in Management Information Science and an MBA (SM) from the MIT Sloan School of Management. While working as a research fellow at the National Cancer Institute, he obtained his MD from George Washington University. He completed an internship at New York Hospital-Cornell and a Dermatology residency and Dermatologic Surgery fellowship at New York University and currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Mt. Sinai Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Rigel has been a leader in Dermatology for over 3 decades having been selected by his peers to lead them as President of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and American Dermatological Association. He also served as Vice-President of the American Board of Dermatology during his 13 years of service there. Dr. Rigel is actively involved in national public health and healthcare economic policy initiatives serving as a consultant to government and industry. He is regularly called on for his expertise on these issues by White House administrations and has testified multiple times before Congress and the FDA. He also serves as the Scientific Co-Chair of the Fall and Winter Clinical Dermatology Conferences leading the effort to provide clinical education annually to over 2000 of his colleagues. A board-certified dermatologist who has been in practice since 1985, he has treated patients and taught doctors throughout the world in the use of these cutting-edge technologies. Under his direction, Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of New York and New Jersey, a division of Schweiger Dermatology Group, has been a pioneer in making skin laser and cosmetic dermatology technologies available to the public. Dr. Goldberg earned his medical degree from Yale University. He completed his dermatology residency and dermatologic surgical fellowship at New York University Medical Center. He is a clinical professor and former director of Mohs Surgery and Laser Research in the department of Dermatology at New York’s Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.Dr. Goldberg has published over 160 academic papers and has contributed to over 15 academic textbooks. He has authored textbooks on laser dermatology, laser hair removal, laser facial rejuvenation, photodamaged skin, skin wrinkle fillers, acne, rosacea, unwanted fat and cellulite. Theodore Rosen, MD < Back Theodore Rosen, MD Faculty Dr. Rosen, a native of Chicago. attended Michigan State University as a National Merit Scholar, and graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School cum laude. He trained in internal medicine at the University of Alabama and in dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine, where he currently serves as Professor and Vice-Chair of Dermatology. Dr. Rosen previously served on the Board of Directors and is a past Vice-President of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also a past-President and Secretary-Treasurer of the Houston Dermatological Society and prior Chairman and Secretary-Treasurer of the Dermatology Section, Southern Medical Association. Dr. Rosen was the 2017 recipient of the AAD Thomas G. Pearson Memorial Award for lifelong achievement in education, and the 2021 recipient of the Robert J Freeman Memorial Mentoring and Leadership Award from the Texas Dermatology Society. Dr. Rosen has written over 300 peer-reviewed journal articles, 28 textbook chapters and 4 textbooks. Dr. Rosen is an avid numismatist, diehard Chicago Cub fan and devotee of horror films.
